'Pistol' Pete Guns Down Colours

An efficient performance from the greens saw them win by 2 goals in the end tonight, but in truth it could well have been more, with the colours scoring a couple of goals late on.

The greens winning performance was built upon a solid defence of Luke, Lee and Derby Tim, good midfield passing from Tor and Simon and some lethal finishing from 'pistol' Pete Smith up front.

Memorable moments from the game included Derby Tim's salmon like leap at the back post to nod in a superb cross, Simon's battling midfield display, Pete's turn on a sixpence just inside the colours' box and Roberto's numerous attempts to kill himself by running into other players or the frame of the goal.

As green's captain Billy Gallagher said after the game, "We just gelled after the first 15 minutes and never looked back tonight."

Well played greens! Colours were simply not at the races tonight :(
