Wednesday 29th August

Space was at a premium on the pitch tonight as 18 men battled their way to a 4-4 draw. The colours had the better of the '1st half' and the greens probably had the balance of play in the second thirty minutes.

Memorable moments for me included Geir's return - he claimed he was ill at the beginning of the game and hadn't played football for 2 months having been in his homeland of Norway all summer. I just hope I'm on his team when he's back to full fitness!

Poor Joe received what looked like a bad injury when he stepped on the ball and heard a 'snap'. He was carried off to the medical team in the sportspark and later went to A&E (remember Tim?) at the end of the match. I hope he is back with us soon.

I'm saving my most memorable moment until this last paragraph. He wrote the match report last week and Dave (Davidus) got a bit of stick from him, however Darren can be truly proud of the miss from 3 yards with a clear header and deserves some stick of his own. I blame it on the footwear (see below) - they got him into the right position on the pitch but he clearly needs to practise jumping and timing his headers correctly. hehe
