The fun started about half way through when Tim accused the colours of changing the rules regarding distributing the ball from the back. If a man plays the ball to a member of his own team but the ball stays within their box can it be deemed 'in play' and therefore be intercepted by the opposition? Tim thought so, the colours (and probably most of the greens actually) thought not!
The rules were brought into question once more as Tim intercepted a goal kick from Eoin and the ball ended up in the back of the net. Tim wheeled away claiming a goal but Eoin couldn't believe what he was seeing and was incredulous about Tim's claim. Was Tim in the area when the ball was played against him?? Expect a post from Tim soon about the rules we play to!!
The game itself started to stretch as the greens went ahead by one, two, three goals and before they knew it the colours had lost by 6!
Memorable moments (apart from the rule bending) Dave's 'flick' to score late on...Pete's goal from a corner where the ball went in off the underside of the bar...Tor's mazy run to set Rich up for a sidefoot finish...Tim and Rich combining from a corner with one two's...Have I missed many out lads?
See you on Friday...
P.S. - Does anyone else want permission to post on this blog? Just let me know!

Thoughts on the rules.
Goal Kicks... Seems obvious to me that 'normal' footie rules should apply, i.e. the ball must leave the area. (Doesn't really matter if defenders play around with it in the area evne though that's against the real rules.)
Sometimes of course, the ball is just put back into play without going via the area but that's usually obvious.
Handball in the area...
We get it about right that handball in the box should be a goal, but if (as with my header last night) the ball isn't goal bound we should do something less stringent - a corner perhaps. The issue of whether it's 'deliberate' handball is another matter of course! To my mind if an advantage is gained and the players hands aren't glued to his sides then it's handball.
What d'you reckon guys?
